Some lovely people came over to visit me before we all get blown away to different parts of the continent for college. While they were engrossed in watching Firefly, I drew them.

Graphite on paper. I'm happy with all of them in terms of the drawings looking like the models however Greg's portrait is my favorite because to me it looks better placed on the page than the other two. Also I've put my own twist on him and it became somewhat of a caricature, he looks Egyptian to me in this drawing c(: It's interesting looking at these I see my dad's hand in them, my style has subconsciously taken after his.

almost two months

Not posting yet drawing. These are in chronological order. Went through a rough patch where thoughts and drawings were dark or not forthcoming. Three days of school left, a sad and happy time. I am excited for college but I am going to miss the faces, mannerisms and voices I've known anywhere from almost a decade to a year. I can't say my art is prospering, in general I feel rather sour about my ability to create lately but I ignore myself and sink my fingers into the artsy utensils. :)

Хоть не размещаю но рисую. Картинки в хронологическом порядке. Какое то время не рисовала, муза как подушка ускакала от меня. Осталось три дня школы! А потом три месяца и я в вузе! Одновременно и грустно и радастно, не могу дождатся конца лета но я буду скучять о лицах, манеризмах, и голосах всех тех кого я уже знаю чють не десять лет. Не могу сказать что муза вернулась и что я довольна тем что и как я рисую но... я игнарирую злые голоса в моей голове и хватаюсь за красски. :)

Sorry for my lack of posts, I have not been in creative spirits lately :( But on a brighter note, I have only two weeks of school left! The end of high school and the coming on of college. I need to do an art project for my English class so you will soon get some more arts, and maybe I will upload some of my chicken scratch sketches I've been squeezing out of my uninspired self :P

Прошу прощения за то что не размещаю нечего. Что то в последние время не ресуется. Зато падасть, осталось две нидели школы! Конец средней школы и переход в университет! Мне нужно что нибуть нарисовать или смастерить для задания по Английскому так что скоро появятса картинки, может ещё размешю какиенибуть зарисовки... :)

A busy busy weeks of school. Actually the following few weeks will be busy. AP testing just across the weekend and down two days. Tests and insane amount of homework. But I live on the thoughts of Senior Ball and by watching the hummingbirds and finches who come to our deck to feast on sugar water and seeds, respectively.

A random doodle in my sketchbook resulted in a more finished picture than usual. I don't really know what's going on there, everything just appeared. All I can say is that he is a fisherman and they are probably peasants, maybe not too bad off but still peasants. I wasn't going for anything specific but I would say they're European, something Slavic or Scandinavian.

My picture is probably partially inspired by my outing this weekend when I went to watch The Mill and The Cross by Lech Majewski inspired by a book of the same name by Michael Gibson. In this movie Peter Bruegel's The Way to Calvary is brought to life. "Out of the five hundred plus  figures swarming over Bruegel's canvas, Gibson, together with Majewski, selected a dozen characters whose life stories unfold and intertwine." It is a very well done and beautifully shot movie.

college in the sun

Officially going to University of California Davis!

Currently enrolled in the computer science major but thinking about switching to engineering. Probably will minor in biology and art. Or will just take art classes, they have a great lithography studio :D And they have glass art classes and I can get studio time for spinning and weaving. I am excited! This reminds me that I have forgotten my bobbin lacing in the closet... The work load will be immense. Calculus and chemistry the first year, and that's just for computer science! If I switch to engineering I will also take physics the first year. Lots and lots of work. But it will be fun!

On the sad news, I am not going to Russia this summer. You see, since I moved to California when I was seven I've been going back to St. Petersburg every year but not this summer :(

I am currently working on a set of six figurines as a present for a friend. Each figurine will represent one of her close friends including her. I am tempted to show them to you guys before I finish them all... I might. We will see.

Сто процентно иду в Университет Калифорнии Дэвис!

Поступила на программирование на подумаваю перейти на инженерный факультет. Буду изучать биологию и рисование. У них замечательная студия для литографии))) И я смогу брать классы по стеклу и буду мастерить стеклянные фигурки :) И смогу ходить в студию ткать на станках!!! Кстати это мне напоминает что я забыла о моих не доплетённых круживах... Работы будет очень много, в первый год нужно будет отслушать химию и калькулес, если перейду на энжинерское то ешю и физику... буду вечно сидеть в моей комнатке и делать уроки :Р НО Я ВСЁ РАВНО ПРЫГАЮ ОТ РАДОСТИ!)))))

С того вемени когда мне исполнялось семь лет и я приехала в Калифорнию я каждый год езжу в Питер. А вот в этом году не смогу :( вместо этого буду маятся в жаре, сгорать от не пошядного солнца и брать классы по програмированию и возможно по выкройке. Ну ладно, что поделать. Жизнь течёт и переворачивает мои камни.

Я сейчас работаю над шестью фигурками для подарка моей подруги. Охота вам показать до того как я их всех закончю... может быть так и зделаю, увидем.

Living through four days of calc AB final which began this week and starting to learn about Nigeria in my comparative governments class. Beginning this week with sleep deprivation I am back to normal and overflowing with energy.

Страницы из блокнота. Не могу поверить! Осталось всего 40 дней школы! Осталось выжить эгзамины. Начинаем изучять Нигерию в классе о сопоставление государств. Прошли Англию, Россию, Мексико, Китай, Иран и на этой ниделе начали последнию страну. Ниделя началась нехваткой сна а закончилась бешенной инэргией и радосным беганием по каридорам.
